Your Chapter 5 test is on April 23, Monday.

You are responsible for everything we have covered in the chapter.

We will have two review days.

Your diary entries for the serf, doctor and lord are due April 17, Tuesday.

Remember 5 - 8 sentences per entry for a total of 3 entries.

Hi All, 

I hope you had a wonderful Spring Break!

Your comic is due Friday March 30th, at the beginning of class. You will have no more class time to work on them. 

Remember to be creative and have fun with it.

Also, you will be getting a term 2 progress report to take home on Wednesday and it will be signed by your parents and returned on Friday.

you will have time to work on your Joan of Arc newspaper articles in class on Friday.

They will be homework for the weekend. Do to the strike from Monday to Wednesday, the articles will be due on Thursday March 8. That is next Thursday. Because you have almost a week to complete the articles, late articles will not be accepted and will score a zero. So do not forget them at home, or on your desk and make sure your dog doesn't eat it.

It can be typed and pictures are encouraged. Remember these are newspaper articles, so write them as such.

If you need help with formatting, read the newspaper to get some insight and inspiration.

Due Thursday March 8 - no exceptions.

The chivalry / Knight's Tale paragraph is due Thursday February 23.

Remember you are also being marked on spelling, punctuation and neatness. If I can not read it, you will not get a mark. So do a rough draft and go slow with your printing.

Great first week!  Remember, Tuesday you will have time to work on your role plays. Your scripts need to be finished, I will be checking. Tuesday is to practice and rehearse, if you are doing a video you need to bring all of your stuff to class so you can work on it. You will not have the whole class.

Welcome to Social Studies 8!

I know we are half way through the year but it is the start of the year for me. We are going to have a lot of fun for the remainder of the year and I am looking forward to getting to know you all.

On this site you will be able to find information about the day's class, anything you need for upcoming classes as well as homework assignments.

I encourage you to check this site often. I will only be at school on Day 2, so if you miss something it may be too late by the time the next class arrives.

The best chance to get all the information is to come to class and this site is not a replacement for class.

If you have a questions that is not answered on this site please email me at   abarrett@nvsd44.bc.ca and I will get back to you before the next class. That being said, you probably won't get a response if you email the day of class.

Again, I am looking forward to the rest of the year.
